Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
Windmark Games (“we”, “us”) runs the websites windmarkgames.com and podiummanager.com and the waitlist for Podium: Racing Team Manager. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use those sites, why, and what you can do about it.
We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can contact us at [email protected].
What we collect when you join the waitlist
When you join the waitlist on either site, we save:
- your email address;
- the site you signed up on (the studio site or the game site);
- the platform you chose, if you chose one (iOS, Android, Mac, PC, or both);
- the time you signed up;
- the version of the consent wording you saw, and the wording itself;
- the page you signed up from, stored as its address without any query string;
- the campaign details in the link you followed, if the link had any (the UTM tags);
- a quality flag if our checks think the sign-up needs a second look, and, for a few sign-ups, the time it took to fill in the form.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, postal address, phone number, date of birth or payment details. We do not store your IP address with your sign-up.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use your email address to send you news about Windmark Games and Podium: Racing Team Manager. We send it only when you have agreed to the consent wording shown on the form. That is our basis under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We use the other checks described below to keep the waitlist free of automated and abusive sign-ups. That is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, in keeping our sites and the list secure.
Spam and security checks
Before a sign-up is saved, our checks may do the following. None of them is a decision that has a legal effect on you.
- Turnstile, a challenge from Cloudflare that confirms a person is submitting the form. It runs when you submit.
- A lookup of the domain of your email address (for example, example.com) through Cloudflare’s DNS-over-HTTPS service, to check that it can receive mail. We send only the domain name, not your full address.
- A check against a public list of disposable email domains.
- A limit on how often one internet address can submit the form. For this, Cloudflare handles the IP address of the request while it is being processed.
Who else receives your data
We use service providers to host our sites, run the waitlist and store the sign-up list. These providers process your data only on our instructions, under data processing agreements. Some may process it outside the European Economic Area, with safeguards in place as the law requires.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set cookies that its services need to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse, such as the Turnstile check. We do not use those cookies to follow you across other sites.
How long we keep your data
We keep your sign-up until you ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record that you did, so that we do not add you again by mistake. Each email we send will include a way to unsubscribe, and will say so.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, ask us to send it to you in a usable form, and object to our use of it. You can withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of this, email [email protected] from the address you signed up with. We will reply within one month.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Ireland that is the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). If you live elsewhere in the EU or the UK, you can complain to the authority in your country.
Children
The waitlist is not aimed at children under 16. If you think a child under 16 has signed up, email us and we will delete the sign-up.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes, and we will change the date at the top. If a change affects what you agreed to, we will ask you again before using the data in the new way.
